About Auli:
Auli is a picturesque hill station located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, at an altitude of around 2,800 meters (9,200 ft). It is renowned for its world-class skiing slopes, breathtaking Himalayan views, and serene mountain environment. Once a quiet Himalayan meadow, Auli has developed into one of India’s most popular winter destinations, especially after the introduction of skiing facilities and ropeway connectivity from Joshimath.

Auli is surrounded by some of the most prominent snow-covered Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dunagiri, and Mana Parvat. The region is adorned with dense coniferous forests, alpine meadows, and oak-lined slopes, making it equally attractive during summer months. Between June and October, the area supports a rich variety of high-altitude flora, including several rare and endangered plant species, adding to its ecological importance.

Apart from its natural beauty, Auli also holds religious and cultural significance. Nearby Joshimath is home to ancient temples such as the Hanuman Temple and is closely associated with Adi Shankaracharya, who is believed to have visited the region in the 8th century AD. During winter, from late November to March, Auli becomes a hub for skiing and snow-related activities. Visitors can enjoy cable car rides, rope lifts, snowball fights, and panoramic views of the Himalayas. Auli is easily accessible by road or ropeway from Joshimath, making it a perfect blend of adventure, spirituality, and natural beauty.

DAY 1 : Arrival in Dehradun/Rishikesh to Joshimath/Auli

Morning:
o Arrive in Dehradun or Rishikesh (nearest major cities with good connectivity).
o Drive to Joshimath (8-10 hours’ drive, ~270 km).

Afternoon:

o The scenic route passes through Devprayag,Dhari Devi , Rudraprayag, and
Karnaprayag, offering views of rivers and valleys.

Evening:
o Check in at your hotel in Joshimath/Auli. Rest and acclimatize.

DAY 2 : Explore Joshimath and Auli and Local Attractions

Morning:
o Visit the Narsingh Temple, an ancient and significant religious site.
o Drive to Vishnuprayag, the confluence of Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers.
o Take the scenic ropeway ride from Joshimath to Auli (if operational), one of
Asia's longest ropeways, offering breathtaking views.

Afternoon:

o Visit the Auli Artificial Lake, one of the highest man-made lakes in the world.
o Explore the Gorson Bugyal: Trek or take a chairlift ride to this beautiful
