About Auli:
Auli is a picturesque hill station located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, at an altitude of around 2,800 meters (9,200 ft). It is renowned for its world-class skiing slopes, breathtaking Himalayan views, and serene mountain environment. Once a quiet Himalayan meadow, Auli has developed into one of India’s most popular winter destinations, especially after the introduction of skiing facilities and ropeway connectivity from Joshimath.

Auli is surrounded by some of the most prominent snow-covered Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dunagiri, and Mana Parvat. The region is adorned with dense coniferous forests, alpine meadows, and oak-lined slopes, making it equally attractive during summer months. Between June and October, the area supports a rich variety of high-altitude flora, including several rare and endangered plant species, adding to its ecological importance.

Apart from its natural beauty, Auli also holds religious and cultural significance. Nearby Joshimath is home to ancient temples such as the Hanuman Temple and is closely associated with Adi Shankaracharya, who is believed to have visited the region in the 8th century AD.
